Explode
I've been penned up too long,
Set me free,
I need a new atmosphere,
Let me go,
Just give me the chance
03/??/01
In such a small world,
With no room to run,
No room to explode.
Out into the open;
I'll toss my head to the sky,
Shine in the brilliance
Of the blazing sun.
Need to breathe the fresh air
Outside these walls,
These unyielding boundaries.
Where the fences won't hold me back;
I'll soar with the winds,
Challenge the gravity
That binds me to this rugged earth.
To spread my wings,
Fly through the clouds.
Give me the chance
To explode.
I wrote this about my horse, who gets understandably restless when kept inside the barn during poor weather (ie: pretty much all winter long). I went to lunge her the day I wrote this, and when I gave her the OK to canter, she galloped around in crazy circles... It was actually rather amusing.
