These graphics were made for the Venus Hum fansite, venushumfans.com, which is designed by rotcav (webmaster of bluemanlibrary.com, for which I've also done art), and owned by SirPepsi (both of the blueman.com message board). When offered the chance to provide the artwork for the band's individual biography pages, there was no hesitation in my mind, for these three are truly incredible.
Admittedly, I hadn't heard of them until Blue Man Group's CD, The Complex, on which Venus Hum lent their beautiful voice (Annette) and masterful electronics (Kip and Tony) to the track "I Feel Love." The three also went on tour with Blue Man Group in 2003, performing both "I Feel Love" with BMG and their own opening set. Because of their genre, I wasn't sure what I would think of them... but the first time I saw them I was pretty damn blown away. There is so much passion, energy, and life in their music, and it all sounds like it's in some stratosphere most humans today can only imagine. I also immediately adored Annette--she commands the stage in such a unique way, by freely dancing around and goofing off while belting out her lovely melodies with seeming effortlessness. She is hands down one of the most amazing vocalists I have ever heard. The group's music is absolutely gorgeous and inspiring, and for that they deserve all of the best. Beautiful.
