This artwork was created with a photo found in the blueman.com Tour Journal (in an entry by Matthew Banks entitled "Contact"). It is meant to keep that original theme somewhat intact, but also includes a sort of "underground" perspective.
(Credit to Bebs for base idea, here) The blue men in this image seem to have found an entrance, a cave, a hole... The viewer is looking up at them, his/her eyes flooded with a newfound light he/she has never seen before... its radiance distorts and blurs the surroundings, wreaking havoc on one's senses if only for a moment. The two blue men on the left are intrigued by their discovery, whatever it may be, while the third looks up into the light, distracted by the world. Electricity is present in an ambigious form, weaving through the fibers in the ground and across the beams on the tower above. As the viewer, will you retreat into your dark, cozy surrounding, or will you step into the light and accept the golden sheen of the sun?

This piece was created partly on a whim, and partly for the birthday of Matthew Banks (11/11). [Let's all speak happy birthday to Matthew... ready go... Cliche, I know, but I couldn't help it. ;) heheheh.] Happy birthday, man!
