The role of the “strong and grounded” blue man is exaggerated in this artwork. The middle blue man is straight and solid, especially in contrast with his companions, who are somewhat transparent and abstract. He is almost like a statue, though still alive with an aura of wisdom and power. His intensity is fed through his body by some unknown electrical light force, which illuminates his being with strength from an unknown source. He acts as a base for the other two blue men, who are often unpredictable and much less focused with their behavior. The middle blue man can seem to be their leader, since he seems to always be aware of the main task at hand (while the others are easily distracted).

This artwork was created for Eric Gebow, a Chicago Blue Man (even though I've seen him in Vegas, not Chicago). He has a definite intensity about him, that almost makes him intimidating (even to a seasoned fan)... Though I hear he's a giggler, so he can't be all THAT intimidating... Sorry, I just had to stick that in there somewhere. I've not had the chance to really meet this guy, but his character is clear even from far away. His eyes are sparkling and sharp, and his whole form radiates power and potential. He can simply step on the stage and create an impact.
