Step on the Stage

Ahhh the blue men and their confetti cannons... Spread the love, boys. Haha.
The audience wasn't really visible in the original picture, so I ended up making those flame-shapes in the lower right corner to represent those people rocking out in the front rows... Basically, the idea is that the Blue Men are standing on their luminous stage, to the delight of many, as they create havoc and beauty around them. The artwork almost has a "party" feel to it, a mix between the end of the "Tubes" show and the end of the "Complex Tour" show, only here there's none of that "awwwww it's almost over" feeling! Yay! The blue line below all the action is a calm river, with an echo of the stage above... A sort of foundation for the rest of the piece, even though it's somewhat separated--its "Blue Man character" (due to the color) sets the world afloat.
[Blue Man on the left: "uhhhhh... I don't think mine is working right..." heheh.]

This artwork was made specifically for Ryan Buckley (blueman04 on the blueman.com message board). His talents led him to an advanced stage of BMG auditions (for which he traveled to NYC), which is a huge accomplishment! The piece is tapered to Ryan's personality with its general fun and energetic feel, and stand-out stage... He once said in an interview that once he "step[s] on the stage," he's happy, and so that's what he wants to do with his life. So this piece is a hats-off to that... Hopefully someday that dream will come true.
