Blue Man in Boston
OK, so it was Sunday morning and I was as excited as I'd been in a long time.
I mean, c'mon now I woke up at 6:30 and GOT UP. Since when does THAT
happen, voluntarily? Yeesh! Anyways. I was ready way before it was time to
leave.
We picked up my friend Erin and drove to Boston. We almost couldn't find a place
to park, but we did all right and got there by 2:00 [note: as requested in advance by Sharon, a BMG employee who moderated the message board at the time], an hour before showtime. We were just kinda
standing around before the show, because the ticket guy said to wait (my dad
asked where we should go). Then Karen, a BMG employee, came and asked if we were Erin and
Jen, and when we confirmed that, she had us wait in the bar for minnie and hannah. She gave
us little goody bags... Including a white shirt (extra large! hehe), that
blinkin' bouncy ball (that thing is awesome...I'm so easily amused!),
keychain, CD case, and best of all... A holiday notecard (mine was the "gift giving" one) that says "Happy Holidays Eternallyblue! You rule!" signed BMG Founders Chris, Matt, and Phil. I had to laugh at how unintelligable Matt's name is on there. Even though I know it's his, I still can't make out any letters. Heh.
Then minnie came, and soon after, hannah and her friend Christina.
They were all SO NICE!! Karen took us backstage (reminding us not to lean on
any walls because there is blue paint EVERYWHERE), but it was a short tour
because everything is so tiny there. The coolest thing was where the band
sits. I bet you get an awesome view of the audience during KLF up there.
Finally, the show. I'm not going to tell about skits or anything, but let me
tell you, the Boston show is SO much different than Vegas. Of course, I was
way in the back in Vegas and close to the front in Boston anyways, so it was
just a huge contrast there. But the whole Boston experience was just
incredibly intimate.
I was in the LED... As the flight attendent thingy. I had to point out the
emergency exits. *LOL* I was like, "uh oh, where are the emergency exits?!
Ah!" Erin was in it too, thanks to luxor and me; she won the pulitzer prize.
The first time the blue men wandered into the audience, one of them (the Chris part) came right over to Erin and I and just stared at me
for like a solid 10-15 seconds. I was just smiling at him and after like 6
seconds I was thinking, "he's still staring at me...what do I do? Eek!
Cool!!!!" and then he looked at Erin and she squirmed like crazy.
After the show, we all got to wait in the lobby so we could meet the blue men and band members and take pictures after the rest of the crowd was gone. The one that stared
at us (later learned his name is Bryce, by the way) was the first to come up; he
was wicked nice and he talked to us. Karen introduced us all, and he
recognized minnie from the HMV thing (don't know if he recognized hannah
too?)... And when he saw Erin and I, he was like, "oh yeah, I saw you in the
audience" (with a little smile). Heh. Of course he did, he stared right at
us!

After the paper was all bunched on stage at the end of KLF, Erin and I got
up and danced around... This was while the blue men were jumping up and down
in unison; I think they noticed us because we were the only ones standing
and dancing. (All the vegetables! *LOL*)
And at the very end, when they extend their hands to each section of the
audience, the one that came to stare at us did it again to our section,
looking right at Erin and I. It was so cool! We think part of the reason for him singling us out was our shirts that we
were wearing (that we got in our goodie bag).
We all stood in a big group for pictures, and Bryce had his left arm around Erin and
his right around me. His head bumped into mine while we were all squeezing
close so I got a blue streak in my hair (just like I've always wanted!
Haha!). I was kinda leaning against him so I got his yellow paint on the
back of my shirt.
After the pictures, Erin turned to Bryce and said (really innocent and corny-like), "can I have a kiss?" and he gave her one, very carefully and sweetly. Then he turned right to me and kissed me without a word (I didn't even have to ask! And I got my blue kiss!! ). So then I was like (still smiling my face off obviously), "OK, I have to kiss you now. Because luxor, on the message board, says I have to kiss a blue man, so I'm going to." I'm sure it was more detached than that... I'm sure I was babbling. *LOL* And I used an excuse, but really, I just wanted to kiss him (I guess I thought that I had to kiss a Blue Man sometime, and it might as well be him!). Hehe. And he went, "OK" with a little smile on his face, then leaned over a bit so I could reach him. You know, it's really hard not to get blue all over your face when you kiss a blue man. *LOL*! Next thing I knew, Erin had blue ALL over her face... I mean, everywhere...
It all went by so fast... Suddenly Andrea, General, and Bryce were leaving. But Bryce was the last to get leave the lobby, and poked his head out the door, where he waved and smiled a little and said "Bye" real quietly. He was really, really, nice and gentle. =) Just like I hoped the first blue man to give me a blue kiss would be! Ha-ha. Wow that was cheesy.
Oh, and the band members were great too! Especially since there was only three of them and you could really pick out each one's part (which was really cool). My mom was talking to them afterwards for a little, she said, which is neat. The bandies ROCKED! Literally!
After the performers were gone, we took a couple more pictures...
Also, I got Andrea's spin-art from the show (bought it for $25, I was very pleased with the bargain)! No one happened to buy it that night, so I snagged it after all the meet-and-greet action was over. It's beeeautyful.
Anywho, I HAD AN AWESOME TIME!! I loved it soooooo much...
THANK YOU BLUE MAN GROUP!!!!! And Sharon!! And CMP for that card! And
Karen, and Bryce and Andrea and General!!! You all rock! And I WANT TO GO BACK ASAP!! Hehe.
