Class Trip to BMG Boston
    "Tubes," Charles Playhouse, 03/29/01

Ah, every time I see BMG it gets better and better. I will never, ever, ever, get sick of this show; it's impossible. OK, here's the tell-all, because I like to babble and such. Enjoy~

We left on the [coach, yeehaw!] bus pretty much right after school--the mood was calmly excited, with a few people here and there who were a little skeptical. But don't worry, that changes, of course. Heh. A 3 hour bus ride probably never felt so long... But when we finally got into Charles Playhouse, everyone was pretty psyched. One freshman even took some blue paint from a door handle and put it on his face.

So we get into the theater, and instantly I'm like "ahhhhh, smells like Blue Man" (that's one of the things you miss out on in Vegas, eheh). I ended up being centered, a row from the back. Pretty sweet (our group was spread out in the back rows on the floor). People started getting confused when they started passing out the paper, but it was all good. One of the chaperones took someone up on her suggestion to make a "ninja-turtle mask", haha!

No, Bryce wasn't there (*slight pout*). The blue men who were, though, were incredible! The guy who was playing the Chris part (later found out he was Chris Bowen himself) looked so familiar but I couldn't place him (at the time), while the other two I only vaguely recognized from a couple pictures. Every time I've seen the show, the Chris part totally wins me over, somehow. Heh.

The show was incredibly awesome, let me tell you. The music literally rocked the theater--PVC IV especially was great, they were flying like I've never seen! I was one of the few to sing during "White Rabbit" (along with some lady behind me, my best friend... and a few random people from my school who TRIED but kept getting distracted by the other signs, lol).

It seems that "paper" was the best part for most of our group--WHAT A RUSH. Paper all over the place, black light and strobes going nuts, Blue Men dancing around... Ahhh! Hehe. I heard the next day that one guy (the same who blued himself before the show) was headbanging with one of the blue men for a while. I overheard another guy say "Blue Man Group was AWESOME!" and a few other say things like "we got TPed WICKED!" Actually, on the bus on the way home, one girl was like (in this kind of dazed/shocked voice) "I think I'm addicted". *lol* Ah, converts. So thick you can smell 'em. OK, so that was a weird phrase. So um, the group loved the show! (Obviously)

Holy, I knew I was going to babble. I'm not done yet, either. Mwahahahhaahha!!

So, after the show, we had to get right out to the bus (awwwww). We passed the band guys, who I said "you guys rock" to on the way by, and were out to the bus before the blue men came out. So we're waiting to get on the bus, and my best friend Erin wanders over with a blue kiss. At once, my friend Jen and I were like "HEY!!!!! How'd you get a blue kiss, you jerk??" so we ran back (couldn't resist). My teacher was waiting at the door for our group to all come out, and she gave us the OK to go back in (as long as I got her ticket signed, that is). So while Jen got a kiss from the guy who played the Matt part, I went right over to the one who played the Chris part. Oh my god, you guys, he was so incredibly nice...
I took a picture of him and Jen, and then Jen took a picture of him and me...

Chris and I, in the 2000/2001 band collage, for all to see for years to come, haha.

Then I asked him if he could sign the ticket for my teacher. He was about to, and then he hesitated, and looked at me. Then got a little closer, still looking. Here I am, thinking "uh, ok... What's he lookin' at me like that for? Now I'm confused (lol)..." ...he seemed a little confused, but then something clicked, and he said "oh whoa, freaky. Those are awesome!" And here's where I remember--I'm wearing my weird blue and white contacts. (Duh, me! Hahahah.) So then he signed the ticket and Jen gave him a kiss, and I told him I was jealous now, I want a kiss too... He gave me one (got blue all over me compared to Jen's kiss! lol).
At some point here I got another picture of him... When I took this next one, he was too close to the camera (his doing, not mine, hehe), so I had to back off, hehe.

    Chris

As we were about to leave, I said "oh, and say hi to Bryce for me". He said, "OK, I'll see him tomorrow. ...Wait, who are you?" So then I told him I was Jen, eb from the board (he didn't seem to connect the latter part at first but then he was like "oh, OH, OK", don't know if that was "I hear ya" or "oh, I know what you're talking about"... hehe). We said something else too, joking about how "we ran back after we saw our friend with a blue kiss, and that we'd probably be late for our bus now"... And then I said bye and gave him a half-hug (kinda hugged his arm, because I only had one free arm), which he was really cool with. On my way out I remembered to ask him, "hey wait, what's your name?" him: "Chris" me: "Alright, thanks! Bye!" him: "Bye!" (little smile and wave, I LOVE it when blue men do that... lol). And Jen said that before she left, he asked where we were from again (he only asked once, but said "again" anyways as if he had already asked), and said something like "wow, and you're going back tonight, huh?"
You probably didn't need to know every line of dialogue I remember, but, well, I felt like reliving the moment. He was so nice, completely won me over, and Jen too.

    Jen, Erin, and I

Here's Jen, Erin, and I on the coach bus after the show. It's funny, we all have something weird about us--Jen with her blue lips, Erin with her spiffy glasses, and me with my, um, interesting, contacts. We were happy campers, can you tell? This picture's in the 2000/2001 band collage at my high school, along with the one of Chris and I.

Bottom line, AWESOME show, AWESOME blue men, AWESOME experience! And I'm too gidddy to think of words other than awesome! "Star struck" (words of that girl who said she's addicted)... Hehe.
